In Psalm 113:3, the Bible tells us, “From the rising of the sun to its going down, the LORD’s name is to be PRAISED.”
Years ago as a young child, I recalled most major companies would always add a little “jingle” to advertise their products. It was effective in grabbing your attention. Being a coffee lover I can remember one jingle saying; “the BEST PART OF WAKING UP IS . . .” Basically they were saying their particular product was a great way to start your day with it in your cup.
I love how the Bible encourages us that our day will overflow and be fantastic as we choose to REJOICE IN HIM!
“This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!”
Psalm 118:24
Praising Him brings restoration to our souls. “RESTORE to me the joy of Your salvation.” Psalm 51:12. The Passion translation describes it this way: “Let my passion for life be restored, tasting joy in every breakthrough you bring to me. Hold me close to you with a willing spirit that obeys whatever you say.”
Habakkuk 3:18 tells us, “I REJOICE in the LORD. JOY in the God of my salvation.”
“I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Psalm 91:2
There is POWER IN OUR PRAISES! Remember in Joshua chapter six? The Israelites were instructed to march around the fortified city of Jericho, and then they were told to SHOUT. What took place after that is miraculous; the walls came crumbling down.
So if you ask me, the best way to start your day and end it, is by PRAISING GOD!
“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!”
Psalm 150:6
