Nevertheless, At Your Word Transcript
Praise the Lord, friends. We’re gonna talk today about how you can release the power of God in your life. We’re gonna talk about how you can release the power of God’s promises. And the way that we release the power of God’s promises in our life is by believing them, and then by beginning to agree with what God says about us. Stay tuned. Blessings. Friends, it’s so good to have you with us today, and I’m glad to have Aaron. We’re sharing his series on “Nevertheless, At Your Word.” Aaron, I was so excited you sent this out the other day just before you ministered to it. And I’d been looking at a local minister’s thing and all the things they were doing, and they were all good things, but there was nothing in it, to me, that really brought life. And actually, I had prepared my message for Sunday, and some of the exact same scriptures that you had in your message were the same as what I had in my message, and it was about the life of the Word of God. And I got so excited, I thought, “This is exciting.” The Word of God still excites me. The power of God, the Spirit of God excites me. The gifts of the Holy Spirit excite me, you know? And standing up for good, godly causes, you know, that excites me. But there’s a lot of things, even though they’re good, they may not really bring life. And so I thank God for the life of God that’s in the Word of God. And I thank God that it’s changed our lives.
You know, on a Sunday morning service, it was during worship, but you had a tongue. And God started giving me the interpretation, and I didn’t quite have all of it. Sometimes you don’t always have to have all of it, but you can step out in faith and start, and then God will give you the rest of it. But I was up on stage, helping with music, so it was hard for me to, you know, kind of give the prophetic Word, the interpretation. So I waited till the next service, and then gave it. But God was speaking to me about declaring that you need to declare His Word. Declare it.
Amen.
And just there’s so much power from declaring His Word. And after that came, I thought, “Man, I should do a teaching on this.” Sometimes God can speak something to you and you can study it out even more.
Amen.
So that’s what I did. I just really studied out the Word of God and just how powerful the Word of God is. And I just got really excited studying out, you know, just the Greek about the logos Word of God and the rhema Word of God, and just how important both those understandings of the Word of God is.
Amen. You know, when you study the logos, I’ve read through my Bible every year for years, and I read, you know, three to five chapters of the Bible every day, six days a week. And then, Sundays, I don’t necessarily get up and just read through the Word. I’m generally going over in my mind what I’m gonna be teaching in the scripture, so on and so forth. But I’ve read through the Bible every year for years, and sometimes I read a lot more than that. But when you read the logos on a regular basis, God will speak to you. There is power in the Word. There’s life in the Word. And I’ve had God speak to me from Jeremiah, I’ve had God speak to me from the Book of Job, I’ve had God speak to me from the Book of Philemon. You know, and some of the words He’s given me, you know, are just a now word. But some of the words He’s given me, I’ll operate on some of those words for, you know, 15 to 20 years. And one word from God can absolutely change your life if you’ll believe it.
God’s Word is so powerful. You know, we’re gonna talk today about how God’s Word has the power to break through the impossibilities.
Amen.
All of us are gonna face, at some point, an impossible situation, but God’s Word, and you see it throughout scripture, His promises, His declarations, His commands, His Word has the power within itself. His Word is so powerful, it has power within that promise. The Word of God, that rhema Word, that command, that promise, it has the power within itself to perform itself. You’re not the one that performs it. You just believe it, and you act upon it, but the power comes from the promise itself.
Amen.
If that makes sense. You’re not the one that makes the Word come to pass.
Amen.
And sometimes people get a word from God, or a prophecy, and they try to make it happen in their own strength. That’s not how it works.
A lot of times, Aaron, when people come to churches like ours, they’ll hear us teaching the promises of God. And it’s exciting, but if you’re not spiritually sensitive, you can go out in your strength and try to make, in your personal strength, and try to make a word come to pass. And I’ve seen a lot of people do that and seen them fall flat on their face, and it’s… You know what? We don’t make the Word of God come to pass. I love the scripture in Jeremiah 1:12, where God told Jeremiah, He said, “What do you see?” And he said, “Well, I see the rod of an almond tree.” And God said, “You’ve seen well, for I will hasted My Word to perform it.” It’s God that gives the Word, but it’s also God who performs the Word. And we can’t make the Word. We have to act on the Word of God. We have to, you know, act consistently with what we’re believing. But at the same point in time, we don’t make the Word of God come to pass. The Word of God has the power, and it will work, praise God.
I love something that the psalmist writes in Psalm 138:2. It says, “I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name.” You know, I love singing songs about the name of God, about the name of Jesus. You know, I just want to speak the name of Jesus. “Your name is power, Your name is life.” I love these songs about the name of God, about the name of Jesus. So it says, “I’ll praise Your name for Your loving kindness and Your truth.” I find it interesting that he’s just very thankful for the loving kindness. That word in Hebrews, chesed, it’s the same word as the Greek word charis, grace. So “I’m gonna praise You for Your grace, for Your loving kindness, and for Your truth.” Grace and truth. Grace and truth always go together. If you get away from truth, you’re gonna lose out on the grace of God.
Amen.
You know, grace and truth always go together. Jesus was full of grace and truth. You know, John talks about that.
Yeah, he says this in John 1:14: He says, “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
And I love reading through the logos, swear to God, from Genesis to Revelation. You know, all throughout scripture you see grace and truth.
You know, if you approach the truth of the Word of God with grace, that truth plus grace equals Jesus, which is life. But truth minus grace equals law or legalism, which produces death. So it’s very important that we approach the truth of the Word of God with grace so that it can produce life.
And some people try to leave out truth. They just preach grace, but there’s no truth, and it’s not really God’s grace. People get off on a ditch, and they say you can just do anything and everything’s okay. And that’s foolishness. That’s not God’s grace. That’s a wokey artichokey kind of grace. It’s not the grace of God that teaches you how to live. So here in Psalm 138:2, it says, “I’ll praise Your name for Your loving kindness and Your truth, for You have magnified Your Word above all Your name.”
Amen.
God has magnified His Word above all His name. Think about how powerful, like what a powerful statement that is. The name of God is so powerful. There’s salvation in the name of Jesus. We have authority to preach the name of Jesus, to cast out devils in the name of Jesus. We have authority, you know, to heal people with the name of Jesus. But here, he’s saying, “You have magnified Your Word above all Your name.” The Word of God, there is nothing more powerful than the Word of God.
Amen. Praise God.
And I was just thinking about the power of the Word of God. His Word is eternal.
Amen.
The Word of God is eternal. You know, I’m so thankful for this Bible that I have, from Genesis to Revelation.
You know, if you study Hebrews 6, we have the unchangeable Word of an unchangeable God. And that’s, you know, people change their word all the time. But God, when a word goes out of God’s mouth, that word goes into eternity and it produces fruit. God, His Word never changes. If God were to break His Word, everything that we see in heaven and earth would pass away.
That’s what Jesus said in Matthew 24:35. He said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Amen.
You know, in Heaven, in the Eternal City of Jerusalem, the New Jerusalem, we’ll still have this Bible.
Praise God. We’ll have the living Jesus.
We’ll have the living Word. But the Word, His promises, it never passes away. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away.” You know, there’s nothing greater, there’s nothing, there’s no power greater than the Word of God. You know, God’s Word just, I like to think about this: I’m a very creative person, I have a doctorate in music, but I like to think about this: God’s Word is a creative force.
It is. You know, God created with His Word. “In the beginning, you know, was the Word. The Word was with God. The Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him. And without Him was not anything made, that was made.” But if you study the Genesis account of creation, in Genesis 1, it says, “In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth.” And it says that “Earth was without form and void, but the Spirit of God moved, hovered, or brooded over the face of the deep.” And then, I believe the Spirit of God was creating a plan, and then God began to call those things into existence. And it says, “And God said. And God said. And God said. And God said.” And the things begin to line up with what God said. Well, we are created in the image of God. And God created mankind with authority, God created man mankind with dominion. But when you really understand the power and the life in the Word of God, you can begin to say some things. You know, the Bible says this: “You will declare a thing, and it will come to pass.” You know, Mom and I had this happen just recently. And we said something one week, and the next week, without us doing anything, we had, it’s on a property that we own, we said, “I think maybe we should sell that.” We had a good offer come in on that property the next week, and we hadn’t even contacted anybody about it. You know, you will declare a thing. Your words have power. You have the power to do something about your situation, and many times it’s in the words that you speak.
And that’s how God Himself operates. You know, Romans 4:17 says, “God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”
Yeah, He begins to speak by His Spirit and call things into existence. He calls those things that be not as though they were, as like it was already done. You know, in the scripture, there’s these three powerful words Jesus said in John 19:30. He said, “It is finished.” Praise God. And Jesus has already finished, He’s already paid for the work at the cross. But when you begin to understand the power that is in God’s Word, and when you believe that Word and begin to speak that Word and act on that Word, you can see what God promised you come to pass. We’re gonna share more about this as we come back in the next half of the broadcast. So stay tuned. Blessings. Friends, we’ve been sharing on “Nevertheless, At Your Word.” And we have this teaching from my son, Aaron, in one teaching, available free of charge, downloadable audio, downloadable video on our website. Also, you can get my book, “The Power and Life of the Word.” Use these resources. God bless you. Past, present, and future-tense sin were paid for on the cross by the blood. There is no other payment that needs to be paid for your forgiveness as far as God is concerned. He got over your sin at the cross, and you need to let it go, you need to get over it. That is the Gospel. Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed with us. We’ve been talking about the Word of God and how the Word of God actually has power. And we’re gonna talk a little bit in this half of the broadcast about how we, personally, as believers, release the power of the Word of God. You know, you can know things from the Word of God, but if you don’t know how to release it, and you gotta know how to release it. You know, Romans 10:17 says this: It says, “Now then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” The literal Greek says something like this: “Now then faith comes by declaration, and declaration by the mouth of God.” When you study the Word of God, God has declared Himself to be some things, and His promises come from who He is. And when you… Not all preaching brings faith, but when people preach who God is, and what God said about Himself, and what God promised, that brings faith.
I actually made this statement when I preached this message for the first time. And I said this: “That every preacher, every church, every denomination, every believer that gets away from the logos, from the written Word of God, from, you know, Genesis to Revelation, they’re never gonna hear and experience the rhema Word of God, the living, the active, the breathing, the life-altering power of God.” I’ve really seen that to be true. When people get away, they stop believing in the Bible, they stop preaching the Bible, they stop caring about the logos. They’re not gonna have rhema working in their life. They’re not gonna be hearing that rhema Word, that living, active, breathing, life-changing Word of God.
There’s a lot of people, and you know what, they don’t let the Bible get in the way of what they believe. And they’ll be religious about certain things. And I’ve had people come to me, “Unless you do this…” I’m like, “I’m absolutely not gonna do that, because you know what, that’s not who God is. That’s not my job,” and so on and so forth. But you know, it’s just like, I’ll share with them, “What do you do with this scripture, and what do you do with this scripture, and what do you do with this scripture?” And you know, people a lot of times just do what they want to do in spite what the scripture says. And if you really want to have a move of God in your life, do you know what? You need the truth of the Word of God, and you need the power of the Holy Spirit. And they work together. You know, John 4:24 says, “God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” And Jesus, what He went on to say, He was talking about, He was the Messiah, right? He’s the Anointed One. He’s the one who possesses the Spirit, and He is the truth. And if you’re gonna have a real move of God, you gotta have the truth of God’s Word coupled with the power of the Holy Spirit. You have to have both of those things. And if you don’t have both of those things, you’re not gonna have a true, lasting move of God.
You know, we were talking about how God’s Word is a creative force. And in Romans 4:17 it says, “God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” You know, here on the earth, there is a destructive force. You know, Jesus said this in John 10:10: “The thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy.” So there is that destructive force. There is a devourer.
Right. There’s not only Satan, but there’s also sin. When sin entered the garden, mankind…
It’s a destructive force. But the way you counteract-
Started going to Him.
that destruction. And if you’re experiencing, you know, something trying to kill you, steal from you, destroy you, you can counteract that. There is a creative force-
Of the Word.
that brings life, that brings power, that brings creativity, that builds up, and it counteracts that destructive force, and it’s the Word of God in your mouth.
Amen.
And, you know, I, actually, as a pastor, I minister to families, I minister to mothers, to fathers, children, grandparents. And every now and then, there’ll be maybe a grandparent or a parent that comes to me ’cause they have a child or a grandchild that’s just completely turned away from the Lord.
Yeah.
And I tell ’em, “You know, the way you pray for them, you have power as a mother, as a father, as a grandparent.” Some of you might be watching this right now, that people in your lineage have just completely turned away from God, just completely gone the way of the world, and you just see that it’s destroying, it’s bringing destruction into their life. You can declare the Word of God over them. I call it a prophetic prayer. You start just declaring the Word of God. “As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.” And you say, that person you’re believing for, you’re prophesying over, you start speaking life over them, and you declare it. Like, even though it might be a dead situation, you declare life over that person.
Now, let’s stop and talk about this a minute, because this is exactly what is happening in Romans 4. It’s talking about how, you know, Abraham and Sarah received a son. And it says, “Abraham did not consider his own body now dead nor the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” But what God did was God spoke a word of life into a dead situation. And Abraham believed that Word, and he believed God. And you know what? God brought life. And Isaac was born, right? So that’s how salvation works. We were spiritually dead, but God speaks a word. We hear the Word of God, we hear how Jesus came, how Jesus lived sinless, and holy, and perfect, pure, and died on the cross, and God raised Him from the dead and made Him Lord. And we believe that Word. And life comes in our spirit.
I was just studying that out, actually, studying about Abraham when God spoke to him. And, you know, a couple times when God spoke to him, he didn’t understand how it was gonna happen. He even said, “How can someone like me, who’s nearly 100 years old, have a child?” And he even laughed about it.
Right.
He didn’t understand how this is gonna happen.
Well, Sarah laughed about it.
She laughed about it, too. And then the Lord gave him the name for this, you know, promised child. And the name was Isaac, which means laughter.
Amen.
You know, God always has the last laugh.
Aaron, you and your brothers have done very well, but I count that to a number of things, and one thing is you have a phenomenal mother. And we actually have a tool here at the church, and she actually developed this one, and it’s confessions over your children or prayers that you can pray over your children. And you can actually go to our website at charischristiancenter.com. You can download it free or you can call in to the ministry today. We have actual prayer cards. We can mail them out to you. But we have one, I think there’s like 14 scriptures that your mother prayed over you and your brothers, that she declared. She also wrote a phenomenal book on “Imparting Success to the Next Generation.” And it’s working. It’s worked in your life, worked in your brother’s life. But you can get those tools. You can call in, you can go to our website, you can get those tools. But we not only have that in the area of the family and these things Mom prayed and Mom declared over you, but we also have one in the area of healing, we have one in the area of financial provision, and one in the area of who you are in Christ. And you know what, there is power and life in God’s Word, but there’s power and life in our words when we declare, when we speak what God says.
I also want everyone to know, too, about our Kids Curriculum. We’re actually in the process of developing a children’s curriculum. We just realized that there isn’t a whole lot of really good children’s curriculum, you know, Sunday morning-type curriculum for kids. A lot of it, they leave out the power of God, they leave out the Holy Spirit. Really, there hasn’t been a lot developed in the past 20 years. So we’re-
Developing.
I think we have almost the first year. We’re gonna have-
We have the first year.
We’re gonna have three years available, and it’s a free download from our website. And you know, we just realized the enemy is really trying to attack that generation, these young generations, just in their identity, and their thinking, and their worldview. And you know, we can counteract that destructive force. We have a creative force, which is the Word of God. So we, as a ministry, are doing something about that. You know, we have these confession cards. We have, you know, my mother’s book and this curriculum, and we’ve made it free of charge. A lot of curriculums you have to pay thousands of dollars for.
Aaron, we were paying $900 a year for this exact same thing that I’m giving away for free. So we could download it. And we have the first year up now, but we’ll soon have the second year up, and then we’re gonna do two years of junior high and then two special curriculums. But this is changing people’s lives. And I know your son, Fisher, before I’d ask him what he learned in Sunday school, he’d give me a little bit, but recently, since we started teaching this new curriculum in our church, I asked him one Sunday what he learned, and he said, “I learned that God is my provider.” And, you know, in the next week-
Jehovah-Jireh.
Yeah, and the next week, he said-
Who is God? He’s a provider. He’s a healer. He’s our peace.
“I learned that God is my deliverer, and God is my protector, and God is my healer.” He started telling me what he’s learned the last several weeks. And so this is what the scripture actually teaches us, who God is, and then Jesus is a representative of God and what we have in Christ. And we’re teaching all this in the very first year. “This is who God is, and this is who Christ is, and this is who we are in Christ, and this is who the Holy Spirit is.” And you know what, we’re teaching a lot of these things that have been left out, and it has the power. We recently have a little, a young woman and her husband, you know, grew up in a traditional church and pretty religious. I don’t know if he’s yet been born again, but he has been coming some, and I know he’s had the opportunity. But they were having major, major problems with their child. And they brought this child here to our church. He’s, you know, six or seven years old. And I mean, he, like, changed immediately. And he’s so happy, and he’s literally transformed. But the Word of God has that power. It has the power to transform people if they’ll believe it and if they’ll receive it. Amen.
That’s awesome. And God’s Word, it will work for you.
Amen. You know, this isn’t just for me and for our family, this is for anybody who will believe it. You know, God is no respecter of persons. He’s a respecter of faith. And if you’ll just believe what God says in His Word, God’s Word is indifferent, it will work for you. It doesn’t matter what race you are, it doesn’t matter what area you grew up in, it doesn’t matter what class you are, it doesn’t matter what gender you are, it doesn’t matter, you know, any of that. None of those things matter. What matters is faith in God. And if you’ll start believing God today, it’ll change your life. You know, when I was 14 years old, I grew up in a traditional church, and I had received Jesus, but we were stuck, we weren’t really moving forward. And I went to an Andrew Wommack Bible study, and I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, and I began to understand who I was in Christ. And my life has been forever changed for good. And the Word of God is working. And I may have not received everything that I believe God for, but you know what, I’ve received a lot of it. And I’m believing God today for more than I’ve ever believed Him for before. So you know what, if you need prayer, if you wanna become a partner with us and help us share this message around the world, just give us a call today. But I don’t wanna leave this broadcast without giving you the opportunity to pray and to receive Jesus Christ, to surrender your life to Jesus. So just pray with me. Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sins, You raised Him from the dead and made Him Lord. And I surrender to You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Blessings. Friends, our broadcast can now be seen by over 2/3 of the world’s population, and it’s our partners that have made this available. I wanna invite you today to become part of this blessing by becoming a partner of Charis Christian Center and “Grace For Today.” So we would love to hear from you, and thank you so much for prayerfully considering this today.
