Imparting Success To The Next Generation Transcript
Praise God, friends. I’m so glad that you tuned in today. We are sharing today on “Imparting Success to the Next Generation.” And we’re gonna teach some principles from the word of God that are going to attack the victim mentality that is being taught in this world. God wants your children to have an overcoming mentality. Open your heart and receive God’s word. It’ll bless you today. Friends, it’s great to have you with us today. I’m so glad to have Barbara and we’re teaching on her book “Imparting Success to the Next Generation.” And we’ve talked about a few things. First of all, we talked about, “Except the Lord build the house. Those who labor, labor in vain.” You know, I would hate to be trying to raise children in today’s society without having personal faith in God. I believe faith in God changes your life. You know, the second thing we talked about is instilling faith into our children. And we talk about faith that is not only taught but caught. And Paul told Timothy, he said, “Listen, I saw the faith in your grandma. I saw the faith in your mama. And I see that same faith in you.” So that’s faith from generation to generation. You know, one thing I don’t believe in, in the New Testament, I can’t find it anywhere. I do not believe in generational curses, but I do believe in generational blessings. I believe.
Amen.
So the next thing we talked about is we’re in this world, but we’re not of the world, and we don’t have to fear the spirit of the world, so on and so forth, and all the evil and all the dread and the terror, all the different things that are going down in the world because we have faith in God. And today, we’re gonna be moving into developing an overcomer mentality.
Which is really the opposite of what the world is trying to program people.
Right, the world is trying to make people victims, but you find out that the word of God says we are victors. So we don’t wanna act like the world, talk like the world, think like the world, or be like the world. We want to let the word of God transform our minds so it transforms our life. Now, this is something that’s really, really working in our family. And I wanna really quick, if you have missed these broadcasts, you can go to our website at charischristiancenter.com and you can actually see these during the week that we’re airing them. We have all of them up so you can go to these lessons that we had before and watch them. But, you know, the Bible says that we’re a overcomer. And in 1 John 4, you know, the scripture says in verse four, “Greater is he that’s in you than he that’s in the world.” Now, 1 John was written, you know, with this kind of mentality, how do we overcome the spirit of antichrist that’s in the world? Did you know we have the spirit of antichrist in the world today?
Yes.
I made a statement recently in church and I said, “You know, the same spirit that was working in Hitler is working in some of these people today.” A Jewish girl won a major swimming competition recently and the people booed. This is terrible. This is the same thing that was happening in 1936 when Jesse Owens won the 100 and several other sprints, you know, at the Olympics when Hitler was talking about the Aryan race. And we have the same spirit that was working in Hitler working in people today. But if it wasn’t for the church, the church is the salt of the Earth, the church is the light of the world, but I think if it wasn’t for the church in America, the spirit of antichrist would completely take over the place. But thank God the church is making a major effect and making a major difference. We’re being salt and light and standing for the principles of the word of God.
And amen, and as we teach the scriptures to our children, they don’t have to have a spirit of fear. We brought that out in a previous broadcast that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power.
Power and love and a sound mind.
A sound mind. And we talked about how our granddaughter who’s three years old has been learning that and how that will change anyone’s life no matter how old you are, but we did wanna talk about what you brought out, how important it is for our children to have an overcomer’s mentality.
Amen.
And this is throughout the Bible. We’ll share a few of these scriptures. And you mentioned 1 John 4:4 and it says, “You are of God little children and have overcome them because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” This is a scripture I carried around with me all the time when I was a teenager.
Amen.
Everywhere I went, down the halls and, you know, we talked about we put our children in public school, you grew up, your mother was a second grade school teacher, my father was a teacher and a coach and then eventually went into administration. And so we were around a lot of people who really chose those careers to make a positive impact in our society, in our our communities.
Yes. And, you know, my mom actually taught for years in public school and then she went and taught at a, you know, very well-known Christian school and she actually said they had worse problems in the Christian school than they did in the public school.
Well, I believe what she brought out what was kind of, was kind of sad, a lot of the children who had been kicked out of public school kind of as a last resort were sent to the Christian schools. And so, you know, praise God, I believe that they got the word of God in their life and got saved and got transformed. But, you know, it’s just really important again that you have an overcoming mentality. We brought out again how the world is just trying to feed especially our children, whether you go to public school or not, it’s just a constant messaging of how you are a victim and how, you know, really it’s a government that’s trying to go a communistic way or Marxism, like we will give you what you need so nobody can be any better than, you know, we don’t want anyone working harder than anyone else and it’s just where they want to make you where you’re needy on them for your next paycheck. And so, you know, it’s important that we raise our families to have this overcoming mentality and understand what Jesus has already done for them at the cross.
Amen, you know what, you need to have a prosperous mentality. And I know I had one of my old school teachers when I was pastoring in Kit Carson, and, you know, we didn’t make a lot of money pastoring, but, you know, we were taken care of. But at the same point in time, I wanted to be a blessing. So God gave me an opportunity to buy a small feedlot and I bought it and God grew our business and blessed us and helped us so much and it made us where we could, you know, do more in the kingdom of God, so more, help more people, give more, you know, and do more things with our family, so on and so forth. And I had this person in the world, he said, “Well, you’re double dipping.” Well, that’s the same mentality that I found when I actually went to Russia on a mission trip in 1991 and people are like, “Well, you can’t do two or three different things.” Well, I have, and I do. And you know what, I wouldn’t have done near what I’ve done in the kingdom of God. I actually give more a week than I used to make in a month just in the ministry. And you know what? It’s because God’s blessed us and it helped us and different things and I thank God. But you know what, this doesn’t just have to be for me. This can be for other people. But you need to have an overcomer mentality. I believe a capitalistic mentality is a mentality of blessing. I believe it comes from God, it comes from the word of God. When you read about the children of Israel, there are many promises of provision in the Old Testament and they were a very blessed people.
Amen.
But not only are there promises of provision in Old Testament, there’s promises of provision in the New Testament. And if you’ll believe it, you can receive it.
Amen, I’m gonna read, this goes right with what you’re saying. This is in 2 Corinthians 2:14. I love this and I’m gonna read it in another translation as well, but it says, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of his knowledge in every place, but I like that. Thanks be to God who always.
Amen.
God is always leading us in triumph. And, excuse me, another translation says it this way. “Praise be to God who makes us strong to overcome in Christ and makes clear through us in every place the value of the knowledge of him. Thanks to God He makes my life a constant pageant of triumphant in Christ.”
Amen, and he’s making it known. You know, our son Peter went to work for the 3G Capital Corporation right out of college. He went to Princeton University. And you know what? There were liberal professors there, there were also some good conservative professors there, but the liberal things of this world did not corrupt him. But when he got involved in business and God promoted him supernaturally, God blessed him, but they told Peter, “We want you to go to church on Sunday morning because we can see that it’s good for you.” And he’s made a major difference. He’s just 34 years old right now and he is currently the chief operating officer of Burger King of the Americas. He has been promoted, he’s been blessed, he’s being a blessing. He’s instilling godly principles, you know, in the places around him. And you know what, it’ll work for anybody. And it not only worked for Peter, it worked for Andrew, our middle son, Aaron, our oldest son. Andrew’s a business person. Andrew’s been super blessed and he’s a tither and he’s a giver. His pastor actually cried when Andrew came in and gave him a six-figure check. Praise God. And it’s after he closed one of these major deals in business. He is a tither. Praise God. And you know what? If it works for my kids, it’ll work for you.
I like what you brought out in a previous broadcast in teaching that God’s desire is for all of us, us and our children, to be leaders in the communities.
Yes.
And that’s not always taught. It wasn’t taught when you and I were growing up in a very traditional setting. You weren’t taught to be a leader in your community.
We weren’t taught to prosper. We weren’t taught to anything. We were taught to, you know, get saved and hang on and hope to God we make it. Repent, don’t sin. Repent, repent, repent. Don’t sin, don’t sin. But praise God, I found out there’s more. And when I was 14 years old, I went to Andrew Wommack’s Bible study and I got baptized in the Holy Ghost and I began to learn these principles that we’re teaching right now, praise God, that greater is he that’s in you than he that’s in the world. That I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That it’s God who works in you, both the will and to do his good pleasure. And when I found out the truth, praise God, I changed. And my life began to manifest the goodness of God. And you know what? This will work for anybody. This is not, you know, something that’s just for me and for my family. These promises of God will work for anybody that will believe them. And, you know, people are gifted differently. People have different gifts, different talents, different anointings, but you know what, the word will work for you. And, you know, maybe you need prayer and, you know, we’re gonna go on a break in just a few seconds and then we’re gonna come back, won’t be very long, but if you need prayer, you could call in right now and we have some great information. And you know what, this teaching as it’s helped and worked in our family, it’ll work for you. Praise the Lord. So, you know, stay with us. We’re gonna be back in just a few seconds. And I believe that this word will change your life when you believe it. Hi, friends. We’ve been teaching from Barbara’s book “Imparting Success to the Next Generation.” These are principles that will help you establish a strong marriage, a strong home, and be a blessing to your children. We’ve also made the syllabus for this free of charge on our website at charischristiancenter.com. Blessings. But when the word of God says in the beginning, God created the heaven and earth. Amen. I believe the word of God. And the Bible says the entrance of the word gives light and gives understanding to the simple. So I take a simple attitude towards the word of God. When the Bible says it, that settles it. Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed tuned. We’re sharing on principles from Barbara’s book “Imparting Success to the Next Generation.” And actually, we’ve been sharing all week and we’ve just barely scratched the surface of the first program, first chapter, but we’re actually talking about these principles. And today, we’ve been talking about having an overcomer mentality. I believe that that is a godly mentality that comes from the word of God.
Well, amen, and we brought it out and you went over and over, but I mentioned how when I was a teenager, I had that scripture written down, that greater is he that’s in me than he that’s in the world. I didn’t have to walk around in fear. I could stand strong in my faith for God everywhere I went. And I wanna bring out too, I love what the Bible says that it’s in more than one chapter or one verse that he’s promised us that he is with us wherever we go. We’re not alone.
Jesus said, “I’ll never leave you or forsake you,” and we can boldly share that, and that’s in Hebrews 13. Another scripture that was just coming to me is Romans 8:31. “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Man, I’ve always thought like, if God’s on my side, I’m in the majority. In other words, I win. Praise God when God’s on my side. Amen.
Amen.
If God be for us, who can be against us? And then Paul tells us in verse 32, how we know without a shadow of a doubt that God is for us. He said, “He that spared not his own son,” the Father did not spare Jesus, but he delivered him up for us all. God sent Jesus to the cross. How shall he, the Father not with him, the Son, freely give us all things.
See, I love that freely give us all things.
Amen.
Again, a lot of people, the world is really spewing it out that you’re a victim. And then religion and tradition of men will tell you how God is holding back. But when you read the word, it’s so contrary. He’s wanting to give blessing to us. He wants to freely give us all things. What do you think that means? Give us all things?
All things. I mean, if God would forgive your sins, why wouldn’t God heal your body? If God would forgive your sins, why wouldn’t God prosper you? You know, the Bible says that we being evil know how to give good gifts to our children. How much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? Well, you know what, I want good. I have three sons. And you know what, they’re all doing well. They’re all loving Jesus. They all have good homes. They’re all prospering. They’re all healthy. God has been really, really good to us and I thank God for it. But you know, I wouldn’t want it any other way, but just like I want good things, even more than that, God wants good things for his children. I love what Mark Hankins says. You know what? God wants to bless you so much that he makes you an advertisement of how he treats his children. And we’ve seen that. Have you ever been embarrassed by the blessing of God? I have. And praise God, I’ve had blessing operate beyond where I’m even thinking sometimes like, wow, Jesus, that’s amazing. But we’ve had to renew our minds so we can accept some of the good blessings that God wants to bring into our lives. Some of the good things. And you know what, God is good to all, the Bible says. His tender mercies are over all of his works. And when you read the Old Testament, the children of Israel, the people of God that believed his promises, they were extremely prosperous. You know, the Bible says that God blessed Abraham and he was very rich in silver, in gold,
Camels, donkeys.
Amen. His servant talked about him. That’s in Genesis 13:2. But then in Genesis 24:35, his servant said, “The Lord has blessed my master greatly and he has given him men servants and maid servants and camels and donkeys and flocks and herds and silver and gold in abundance.” You know what, that offends some religious people. Do you know what, Solomon had more wisdom than anybody in the Old Testament. And Solomon had so much money that they piled the silver in the streets. They didn’t even know how much they had. Praise God. That is what you call supernatural blessing, supernatural wealth. And I believe Jesus said it greater than Solomon is here. And you know what, when you begin to understand that and the wisdom, the Bible says that we have the mind of Christ and Christ is the head of all wisdom and he’s resident in us as believers. I believe through the Holy Spirit, through the word of God, we can tap into the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We can tap in to the wisdom of Christ and we can operate in blessing that’s even above and beyond where they operated in the Old Testament.
Amen. That’s really good. That’s awesome. I want you to share more scriptures ’cause that is just tremendous, but I do have it here in the notes and it’s in the book, and I have this Psalm 118:24. “But this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Too many times people remember, or don’t remember this, they forget, you know, this is the day the Lord has made. In other other words, we should be rejoicing in it. We should see some God-given opportunities. You know, have you ever been around people that say, I never win anything? So guess how many things they win? Nothing. You know, they just have such a pessimistic attitude that life is really bad. And I’m like, when you read this scripture, I’m gonna just rejoice ’cause I know this is the day the Lord has made for me.
Amen.
And there’s great opportunities.
That scripture’s actually talking about the death and resurrection of Jesus, and the new covenant that’s made available because Jesus died and rose again. It says the stone will cry out of the wall and the beam of timber will answer it. Jesus is the headstone of the corner. We are a spiritual house built up to offer spiritual sacrifices to God in praising Jesus, Hallelujah. But at the same point in time, that’s talking about the blessing of the new covenant. You know what, we have a better covenant established on better promises. And there were many promises of financial provision and blessing in the Old Testament. And you know what, if they had them in the Old Testament and we have a better covenant, wouldn’t a better covenant established on better promises and what made it better is Jesus have promises of financial blessing and increase. And it does. The Bible does. Read 2 Corinthians 8, 2 Corinthians 9, 3 John 2, Philippians 4:19. Praise God. Just all over. Luke 12:32. These are all scriptures in the New Testament that talk about financial blessing and increase. And Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you.”
I like that. You know, you just mentioned a lot of scriptures. I wanna remind people today that you also have a book on provision. Both of us have cards, declaration cards. I have one on scriptures to speak over children. Don’t you have one on how the Lord wants to bless you? I know we have one on how the Lord wants to heal you, but you have one that the Lord want to bless you.
I have one on financial provision. We have one on divine healing. We have one on who we are in Christ. Then we have one on scriptures you prayed over our children and spoke over our children. And then I recently prayed a prayer at a conference that you had over our children and a man that’s attended our church for over 10 years, he used to be head over the children’s ministry of a church of over 10,000 people. And he said, “You need to take that and make it available,” so we took that prayer and we had it put on one of these cards. And you can get it and you can call in if you’re in the continental United States, or the, you know, United States, and we can mail that to you. But you can also download them free off our internet anywhere in the world. And these same scriptures that we’ve believed that have worked in our children’s life, you can believe and they’ll work in your family’s life.
And, you know, we’re talking about children and empowering them, but we also wanna let people know that our children’s curriculum, you can download our children’s curriculum free of charge. So if you have children or grandchildren, whether you’re homeschooling or have them in public school, or maybe you help teach at your local church, we wanna make sure that you understand these. All these resources are available to help empower and strengthen you. So again, you can get our children’s curriculum.
You know, we’ve been paying over $900 a year for a subpar curriculum from a group that would not allow teaching like we teach on the Holy Spirit, faith, so on and so forth. And the person that wrote for them actually has come to our church for over 12 years. She’s written curriculum for Andrew Wommack for over 10 years. I’m developing the outlines. She’s writing them. I’m editing them. We have the first year up now, we’ll soon have the second year of children’s curriculum, then we’re gonna do two years of junior high curriculum, then we’re gonna do a special kids curriculum and a special junior high curriculum. I’ve been paying $900 a year for a downloadable curriculum and we’re making it free of charge. And I would’ve been excited this first year if we were in 15 churches. We’re in about 50 countries right now. We have homeschoolers using it all over the nation. And they’re telling us how much it’s blessing them, how much it’s helping them. They’re like, you can go as deep as you want to, as shallow as you want to. You can use it for older kids, you can use it for younger kids. But we’re making this available because we want to see success imparted to the next generation. You can get all that on our website at charischristiancenter.com. It’s absolutely free of charge. And you just go to the website, then you go to the store and go to curriculum and you’ll find that. And praise God, we intend to do a lot more of it.
Yeah, I’m excited. I wanna share another scripture here quickly and then you might have something else you want to share. But this is Deuteronomy 28:2 and then verse eight. But in Deuteronomy 28, it talks about how all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you.
Amen.
The blessings of God will overtake you. Verse eight, it says, “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and all to which you set your hand to. He will bless you in the land he’s given you.” But these are scriptures in the Old Testament, that he says, “I want to bless you so much that it’s going to overtake you and I’m gonna command the blessing on you.” But I like what you brought out earlier when you said it’s the truth that will set people free. It’s the truth that will always prevail. The light will always overcome the darkness.
The word of God is stronger than any lie. I wanna leave you with one scripture that we prayed over our children for years and this scripture really transformed my own thinking and my own life, but this is Psalm 112:1-4. It says, “Praise thee the Lord, blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in his commands. His seed shall be mighty on the earth. The generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever unto the upright there arises light in the darkness. He is gracious and full of compassion and righteous.” Friends, thank you so much for tuning in. Thank you so much for being with us. And if you wanna call in and get these confession cards mailed to you, or if you want to call in for prayer, we would love to hear from you. And thanks to our partners who make this available.
