God’s Word will sustain you no matter what your circumstances are! When our three boys were little, I would always keep small snacks on hand. You could say those snacks were life savers! We lived in rural America, and it was a long drive to get anywhere. It was wise to be PREPARED.
Just like those little snacks, I have discovered simple truths in the Bible that I like to always have prepared and on-hand. These truths from God’s Word will SUSTAIN us as we move forward in the things we are believing for.
In Numbers, chapter 13 God had a plan “to give the land… to the children of Israel.” Leaders from each tribe were selected to spy out the land. As difficulties, or giants in the land were discovered the majority of the “leaders” as well as the multitude felt like “victims.” (Numbers 14:3). They lost sight of God and His Word. You might say that after walking around in the desert, they were famished!
Joshua and Caleb remained focus on God’s promises for forty-five years! This is what Caleb had to say. “As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. NOW therefore, GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN of which the LORD spoke in that day . . .” Joshua 14:11-12.
For forty-five years Caleb never lost sight of his victory that the LORD had promised. The key is, keep believing God’s Word!
“YOUR WORDS were found, and I ATE THEM, and Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16.
It is the Word of God that SUSTAINS us. Give us support or bear us up. “Your words are what sustain me; they are food to my hungry soul.” Jeremiah 15:16 (TLB).
Stay prepared: feast on God’s Word. His Word is what will sustain you as you continue to move forward in what He has promised you.
